Our Mission
BRIDGE: Building Responsible and Inclusive Didactics and Gender-Affirming Education
BRIDGE aims to add an all-inclusive resources website which will include resources regarding access to health, LGBTQIA+ friendly shelters, food, and mental health resources to patients and providers.
The goal of the website would be to give both providers and patients a centralized web based location updated with reliable resources.
Goals
1. Provide patients and providers with a concise list of educational and social resources
2. Familiarize trainees and professionals on the different resources available locally.
3. Involve multiple student groups in designing the website and in learning to provide patients with local resources through community outreach.
4. Unite a collaborative healthcare community at NJMS, Rutgers focused on LGBQTIA+ health.
Collaboration

NJMS and Rutgers University are home to many student groups with an interest in LGBTQIA+ health and advocacy. The project plans to unite students from different organizations and interest group from NJMS which includes Out@NJMS, Infectious Diseases Interest Group, and PsychSIGN to collabarate and work together to provide culturally competent transgender care. The project also aims to collaborate with the Stone Wall Alliance for Health, which is an LGBTQIA+ representative group from the School of Public Health focused on LGBQTIA+ health.
